OUC Half Training – W8D52 – Distance 7 Miles

Last night I fell asleep thinking about running my first half marathon. I think about it often. I can’t wait for the feeling I will get when I cross the finish line and all my hard work will have paid off. I’ll have to wait, because I still have some hard work to do. Today was another seven mile maintenance run. There are no photos today because I wanted to run the entire distance without stopping… except for traffic lights during the first and last miles. Once I made it to the river I was feeling pretty good! I actually ran a bit faster than I have been running during my training runs. I almost ran a progression if it weren’t for mile five. The last mile was once again my fastest at 8:46!

The cool air felt amazing as I ran through Boston. It was the perfect way to wake up this morning, when I have been feeling so tired lately. By the time I was in mile seven though, I was ready to run home. The entire 7.03 mile run took me 1:04:47 giving me a 9:12 average pace per mile. I can’t wait for my off day on Saturday when I will also be working at Disney’s Wine and Dine Half Marathon. It should be fun!
