OUC Half Training – W8D53 – Distance 5 Miles

I really didn’t want to get out of bed this morning.  I’m in desperate need of a rest day.  I will get one Saturday, if you can call that a rest day.  I will have to get up at 4:30 to fly to Florida for Wine and Dine.  Today was a five mile maintenance run, so not the most tiring.  I have been running loops around the Charles River on my longer runs, so for this short one I wanted to do something different.  My plan for five mile runs is always to run for two and a half miles and then turn around and run back, but instead of taking the bridge across the river I went straight along the river. It’s nice for me to change the route a bit to keep me engaged in the run and focused on what I am trying to accomplish.  It also makes it easier to keep going if I am having a bad run.  Today wasn’t the best run, though I did run a beautiful progression.  There were times when I wanted to quit, but  I wasn’t going to let that happen.  My time wasn’t bad at 47:51 for 5.1 miles.  Since I was in a little different area, I was able to see Fall in a new way.  Enjoy the pictures!
